Used Baby Oil with Condom, didn't break but worried

I have been to several SPs and it seems to be common practice that they use Baby Oil to lubricate themselves as well as to give handjobs.

I have recently been in such situation, where I was given a handjob with baby oil used as a lubricant.  When we were ready for intercourse, she put some on her vagina and placed a condom on my penis without wiping the baby oil off.  When I was done intercourse, the condom contained all my belongings, with no leaks no mess.  I inspected the condom briefly and found no breaks with the condom.

My question is, should I be worried about contracting STDs/AIDS when the condom is in contact with Baby Oil (Mineral Oil), yet it did not break?

Pay the $15 donation for an answer form the Doc.  Support the cause rather than looking for free advice from the laymen in this forum.  Or, simply read through the thousands of posts to determine your own conclusion.

The $15 is money well spent for such medical advice from such an expert.

Not to sound rude, but support the cause!

I agree with MonkeyFlower here. The fees were not established to help keep MedHelp going. Rather, the fee on the HIV Prevention forum was initiated to limit the number of posts per day. I think if MedHelp really looked at that forum as a profit center, they would allow more than 4 questions per day.

Oh, and to the original poster: while baby oil does weaken latex and can cause breaks, if you didn't SEE any breaks then you're fine. But it was low risk to begin with.

And are you absolutely sure it was baby oil, and not silicone lube? They feel pretty identical, and silicone lube is latex-friendly. I guess I have a hard time believing a sex worker wouldn't know not to use oil with latex condoms. Or were you using polyurethane condoms?

Jeez, lighten up already on the freaking donations. It's great to donate to the site--it's certainly a worthwhile cause--but you don't have to whip people into it. Relax. This site isn't going to disappear if someone posts a question on the support board vs. the expert boards. MedHelp established these support boards for people to use for just these issues, regardless of donation.

And if you'll remember, the donations on the HIV/STD boards were originally implemented in an attempt to control the flood of identical, low(no) risk stories/questions from overly anxious posters. I think the hope was that only people who had actual risks would then post questions :-) Obviously it didn't work, but it helped...

Well I disagree.  99 % of posts are repetitive questions.  If they only post them here then money is not being donated.

Look. No one likes to be hounded into making a donation (which implies a GIFT, freely given, not a fee--as Dr. Handsfield himself has said many times). Relax. I'm quite sure MedHelp WANTS people to use these support boards, donation or no, or else they wouldn't have established them. Remember, new questions on the STD/HIV boards are limited to only a couple per day (and as far as I can tell always reach their quota immediately), so insisting people only post there and not here doesn't make sense. And I really don't think MedHelp is exactly going to collapse without that $60 or so/day, lol.

So jeez, if you don't think questions are appropriate here, what do you think should be posted? And why are you so worried about donations, anyway?

There you go.  You just saved $15.00.

Just for future reference, baby oil isn't a good lubricant for condom use.  The condom becomes more prone to breaking.  Otherwise, you had safe sex.

Zero risk for all practical purposes, since you did not notice a break; but even if there was a risk, too low to worry about.
