All we can offer is that what you describe is not a risk by experts in the field. If you feel otherwise, then your only option is to test at 28 days. There is really nothing else anyone can explain to you. You can test at 28 days for peace of mind but expect the test to be negative. We wish you the best and are closing this thread.

thank you so much for your reply. Again I am really worried because I was bleeding in my teeth when she cleaned my teeth. So is it not possible that if she cut her self, and then bled into my mouth, would I not be at risk? That is blood contact right. Even the doctors office made me sign papers saying if the blood comes in contact with the person who does the work, the patient should be tested. Can you please explain? thanks so much for your help again.
Hello, We're sorry you are so anxious. There is a lot of misconceptions about HIV. It's actually a fragile virus that is not that easy to transmit. MedHelp adheres to the position of the CDC as well as the input of our expert physicians that HIV is only transmitted through unprotected vaginal or anal sex, the sharing of needles, or from mother to child. Please also know that the HIV virus is inactivated in air and also inactivated by saliva. Therefore, a dental cleaning is not a manner in which someone could contract HIV. We wish the best.
Ok. let me tell you why worried. Because on the forms I had to fill out, before seeing the doctor, it asked us if the patients have HIV etc. And then another said " if the blood of the patient come in contact with the health=care professional, they want to test both the professional and the patient"
So this got me worried. Does that mean blood often come in contact with the patients? Otherwise why would they say that on the form. Then I called and asked the doctor, and he said that the state requires that.
thank you for you help. The person who cleaned it did not like my questions, and said, if it happened, we would both go to the hospital. I guess I must trust her.
I only read your first sentence but can answer this is not a normal fear that you have.
You might consider seeing a therapist if you can't get over this obsession that health care professionals accidentally kill patients and themselves because they are not concerned enough to get help if they create an infection risk.
