While such news can be euphoric but there's nothing as conclusive as approval from governmental health body. Otherwise they all will end up as another HIV growth slowing method.
You have to be able to understand what you're reading in that article. It doesn't anywhere claim to be a "cure"...rather, in a nutshell, a way to treat the OI's that accompany HIV and improve the quality of life in infected individuals. It boils down to a new treatment.
The truth is...just about every viral infection out there is without a "cure", there are only treatments...including influenza and the common cold. It's the nature of viruses.
A cure down the road would be a wonderful thing, and it may happen someday, but it is very misleading to post ideas that "HIV is ending soon"...that isn't true, nor is it at ALL what this article is claiming.
If I had a dollar for everytime they have come up with a functional cure I would be rich.
This is just a step towards the "functional cure" of HIV/AIDS only. We all hope, one day, medical science will find an ultimate solution, however that "one day" is not today yet. And until then, care is the only cure of HIV.
