HIV risk from encounter with CSW

Hi, I am a 38 year old circumsized male.  I made a huge drunken mistake around 3 weeks ago having vaginal sex with a sex worker that started protected with condom but then the condom broke and the sex continued for about 2-3 minutes.  I did not ejaculate and then it was over.   I haven’t been able to be myself since this happened.   Completely lost appetite and can’t sleep, so ashamed of myself.   No major symptoms yet but it’s still early.   What is the risk I contracted HIV?

If you had a condom break during intercourse, that is one of the risks.  The risks for transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles.  HOWEVER, it is a very LOW risk.  Less than 1 percent chance of transmission with a one time condom break. Symptoms are NOT how HIV is diagnosed.  You should take a 4th generation DUO test at 28 days or beyond.  If it has been three weeks, it is close to the time you can test for a conclusive result.  Expect it to be negative though.
