Please HELP

I just called my wife's OBGYN office and asked about the blood work.  They said it came in last week but the doctor was on vacation as i said in my last post.  The office opens at 9:00am I called at 11:45am they said the doctor has to look it over and call us back.  OMG Im freaking out why hasn't the doctor looked at it yet ?????? If something was wrong would her staff have told her and would she have called first thing this morning or what???? PLESE any advice would help.

Thank You

Thank you nursegirl. The whole doctor on vacation thing scared me. But I am assuming especially since I called they would have gotten back to us. I know they have stacks of lab results but the lady I was talking to was looking at it so I'm thinking she would have given it to the doctor then or at least we would have gotten a call. And I actually have been in counseling for 5 years now for anxiety and OCD ( irrational thoughts). My therapist who I pay even said today enough with this you are fine. But with that bing said you don't think I had a hiv risk anyway. Thanks

First of all, it can take days (if not longer) for a doctor to get around to reading lab reports, do you know how big that stack is?

If the results were alarming, your wife would have already  heard by now.  NO news is almost always good news.

That being said, you don't have an HIV concern anyway.  You need to address your anxiety, not keep calling and pestering your WIFE'S doctor about something that isn't even a worry.  You're going to have that office thinking there's something wrong with you!

Because I had protected sex with a sex worker twice the same one a year ago.  The sex lasted less than 30 seconds each time and I even checked the condoms with water there were no leaks.  I am just worried now that I am married and my wife is pregnant.

This is the 3rd time I called I know they are busy and have tons of patients but since this is prenatal blood work Im assuming they would have been on the phone quick I mean my wife is pregnant. It just scares me that when I asked so you cant tell if anything is wrong she said the doctor will look it over and call us later.  It has been 20 minutes already, the lady was looking at the blood work when I called.  Does it take 20 minutes to read the results, I mean if something was wrong I would imagine she would have brought it to the doctor right away no???

doctors are pretty busy, and i am sure if he has no inkling of your fear of hiv, then i doubt he would be rushing straight to your wife's bloodwork, i'm sure he has hordes of patients and reports to get through.
if anything bad came up - they'd be on the phone pretty quick.
