UK guy after final reassurance!!!!

Hello all, Im very anxious and this seems a very good site. I stupidly had unprtected oral and what Im pretty sure was protected sex with an African CSW in Africa, Im white. About 2 months after the episode I developed aches and pains in my arms, legs, underarms, neck and back some days quite severe, combined with the odd night sweat and dry mouth. Ive also had a dark spot appear in my eye and 3 skin tags appear. These are my only real symptoms no rash or sickness. I had a DUO test at 5 and 10 weeks, Rapid insti HIV1/2 at 4 months and an good NHS antibody 1&2/antigen 1 test at 4.5 months. ALL NEGATIVE The symptoms lasted around 2-3 months although eased and almost gone 6 months sine exposure! All I seem to have now is the dark pen dot spot in my eye and a sensitive tongue where the taste buds at the end are always raised my skin also seems rather itchy all over with no rash. In your opinion am i clear from HIV all subtypes including Africa and my symptoms are down to something else. All the NHS and my private doctor stressed that the tests I had are more than conclusive after 3 months let alone 4.5 months. The Africa factor combined with me being drunk and the symptoms worries me! I look forward to your reply as this was a silly one off and Im worried i could have infected my girlfriend who i met after.

Thanks Darren

The thing is i put myself at risk and got lucky i guess.... you have never put yourself of your boyfriend at risk as you say you have tested previously and are STD free......
I live in Scotland but used freedom health in London... they are very good and profesional its private but is well worth the money if you do want to get tested but the way things are your 100% fine.  Freedom health have a very good website and forum.

I feel you! Check back on my posts to the Doctors, on here, and in the anxiety forum.

I've had / have every "symptom" - it's difficult to get over, especially when something new comes up.

The Mortimer Market Centre on Tottenham Court Road have an excellent network of Health Advisors and Councillors. You can just drop in and chat to a HA and they will book you an appointment with a counsellor if you want.

At that clinic, the health advisor I spoke to had never seen / heard of a false negative test in over 6 years of his being there.

Hi! Always good to meet a fellow UKer on here!

Listen to the Doctors. I didn't and it cost me years of my life (and still is!).

As Teak often says, the tests look for antibodies to subtypes, which are common across the board. In the UK we have a high number of African immigrants, and so clinics are well up to speed with this.

Trust FreedomHealth and the NHS (for all its flaws, it does an amazing job).
