he human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can be spread by the following:
* Contaminated blood transfusions and blood product
* Intimate sexual contac
* The use of contaminated needles and syringes
"The use of contaminated needles and syringe", i dont understand then, please could you explain ?
Being poked and infusions are not the same. There has never been anyone infected with HIV by being poked outside the Medical Field and you aren't about to make history and be the first.
Infusion, you mean like drug user using contaminated syringe, to vein?
And it must be medical field ?
in over 30 years of HIV it has only happened in the medical field. so this means you are not going to be the 1st
My english knowledge is bad , so, medical field - labaratories and hospitals, or am i wrong ?
Could i get infected from syringe if its been pricked to my vein ?
So, you must infuse ?(Sorry for double post )
You must infuse the syringe to vein to get infected HIv ?
Stop second guessing.In your original post you asked if you were at risk of hiv transmission from being pricked by a syringe and you were told you had no risk,you were never infused at any time so you don,t need to worry.
I work in a hospital..........also known as the medical field. We have many patients that are HIV+ and many with full blown AIDS. I have come into contact with virtually every type of body fluid there is and I've been "needle stuck" more times than I can count. Over a period of 15 YEARS, that works out to hundreds of "exposures." I have NOT contracted ANY disease, nor have any of my co-workers.
I think your best course of action would be to seek therapy for your out of control health anxiety.
Getting yourself educated about HIV/AIDS would also go a long way to help you live a far less stressed out life. Knowledge is power.
