Possible HIV exposure..scared please help!

Hi there, not sure where to start with this but this is my situation:

About 4 weeks ago I had an encounter with a sex worker in a brothel. She gave me oral with a condom on and we had vaginal intercourse still wearing the same condom. I also kissed/licked her nipples and fingered her vagina and anus. At the end she took the condom off and finished me off with her hand.

The problem and worry that I now have is that I have contracted an STD or worst case scenario HIV.

The reasons I am very worried are because on inspecting the condom after sex I noticed it had split right at the end where my urethra would be.

About a week after this encounter I developed cold/flu symptoms such as sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches etc and they lasted about a week or so.

About a week later I then had an upset stomach which lasted a few days, symptoms were diarea, stomach ache and I threw up once or twice.

The other symptom I have is that for about 2 weeks now my foreskin has become very pink and the head of my penis also seems a bit red and inflamed. The foreskin is sticking to the penis head like a band aid sticks to skin. There is no white substance at all before anyone mentions this though. It doesn't really itch or hurt but just feels a little uncomfortable.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me with the following questions:

1) Is it possible to get HIV from licking nipples ( did not notice any milk )

2) Is it possible to get HIV from fingering vagina or anus?.. (I think i had some small cuts on my fingers)

3) What would you say my risk of getting HIV from this encounter would be, high risk or low risk?

4) Are the symptoms I have been having representative of any STD's or HIV?

Many thanks for any help anyone can give me

Im really starting to freak out a bit now. after i got negative at 4 and half weeks i felt really relieved. now im starting to freak out because im getting loads of symptoms show up. Ive got a rash on my lower torso that looks like lots of red dots, ive gt sore throat, ive got small white spots on my gums(not ulcers or canker sores etc, not sure what they are just tiny white spots), ive got a dark reddish purpley coloured mark come up inside of my cheek in my mouth, ive got a swolen sore neck for no reason(no trauma or anything) and ive got thrush and ringworm which are both more common when the immune system is down, and finally ive been having night sweats too waking up and the bed is all wet.

im so scared i know i used a condom but still so worried i may somehow have caught it. surely all these symptoms must mean something as theres so many all at once!

do you know if there has ever been a case where hiv is transmitted even when a condom used? is there any truth in the 1/1000 odds of transmission even if sex unprotected and the other person is confirmed hiv+ ?

many thanks

We just give conclusive times for tests. 3 months. And it is hard to say you even had a risk based on what you are saying. When condoms break they break wide open and not a small split.

Hi Teak, just had my HIV test results back today and they are negative!!! :) :) :) feel a lot happier and very relieved. I know I will still need to be tested again and wondered if you could tell me how accurate a blood test after 30 days past exposure would be?

Thanks

Don't know how I would cope if HIV +. i hope to god more than anything it comes back negative i will never do something like this again in my life. Does anyone know how conclusive HIV test at 4 and half weeks will be? I live in UK.

Thanks Teak your comments make me feel a lot better about the situation. I hope that my tests come back negative so I can finally stop stressing to death. Just one final question, I know you say I have no risk... But has there ever been to your knowledge any cases of men contracting HIV even if condom was used?

Many thanks

No you didn't have a risk of contracting HIV in the situations you've provided.

Thanks Teak, I understand that you can't give exact figures etc based on my story. I have got an appointment to get tested today but the results won't be available until January due to xmas period. I am just looking for someone who is experienced in the subject to perhaps give me a little bit of reassurance so that I can try and enjoy xmas while i wait nervously for the results. I know you therefore can't say you probably do or probably don't have HIV etc, but based on what happened, (oral with condom, vaginal with condom, fingering anus, and ejaculating without condom) would you say I have any risk at all of getting HIV? have you ever heard of anyone getting HIV even if a condom was used?

Thanks for your responses

Odds and symptoms do not diagnose HIV.

well I wouldn't know as it's never happened to me before. All im saying is that it appeared to me like there was a tear or split in the end. But obviously by the sounds of things it perhaps did not split which makes me feel a bit better. Would you say by reading all of my symptoms and hearing my situation, that I have any risk at all of having caught HIV?

Is it true that unprotected vaginal sex with HIV+ female would still only be odds of 1 in 1000 of catching HIV?

Many thanks

Hi Teak thanks for your comment.

It may not have split its just what it looked like to me (I was quite drunk at the time) so could hava torn from her teeth or something. Im not sure it is possible that it wasn't split at all its just what it looked like to me. Would you possibly be able to help answer the question I have asked to Vance in my last post above?

Many thanks if you can help or give me any reassurance

I've never seen a condom split in the location that you've stated.

Hi Vance thanks for your responses in each of my forums you have made me feel a bit better. I am obviously still very worried due to the risk of HIV. I am going to get tested today but won't have the results to January due to Xmas period. I have read online that the HIV virus is actually quite difficult to transmit compared to other viruses. I have also read that chances of contracting it after unportected sex with someone who is HIV+ is like 1 in a 1000? Is there any truth to this? Do you think I am worrying needlessly about possibly having contracted it?

Many thanks

Hi John, you say HIV does not spread in the way describedi n my situation? The condom split though so surely I must be at risk of contracting HIV? Also you say to accept my negative status, but I haven't been tested yet as it has only been 4 weeks since the incident!

hiv does not spread by the way you described, testing is not required in your case , eccept your negative status and move on with your life.

1. No
2. No
3. If the condom really did break then it is a risk and need testing at 3 months.
4. We don't discuss symptoms of HIV because they are general and non-specific.

STD questions post in that forum.
