Hiv Testing

I decided to test for hiv at 12 weeks after my risk to put my mind at rest and move on my results were negative. I was told by my health provider here in the UK that there was no need to test again for Hiv as 12 weeks to them is conclusive, would anybody believe that there be any reason to re test at 6 months?
