Hiv from hand in needle box

Hi there, just have a question as I’m really concerned. We went to the dr surgery to get a flu vaccine for my kids. They had a big yellow sharps container on the floor underneath the table we didn’t see it as we didn’t think they would put a sharps container opened under us where we had my kids sitting. I’m worried my child put his hand by accident into it? What are the chances of hiv from used needles ? I know they say syringes found in park have no risk as it dies by air what about the syringes with blood inside? I’m u sure if the different risk

There's no way a doctor's office left a sharps container full of used needles in a patient access area.  Further, there would be no way that a child put their hand in the container, got pricked by a needle, and didn't say anything.  This is irrational thinking that should be discussed with your doctor.
