HIV oral insertive

I've been reading this forum a lot, and it has really made me feel calmer about my previous anxieties. 9 days ago, a prostitute did some oral sex on me for about 2 minutes. Basically, she started by doing that, and after one or two minutes I masturbated until I came. During the act, she might have touched herself, touching the tip of my penis afterwards.

Being in a committed relationship, after the episode I felt not only guilty but very concerned. The doctor I visited a couple of hours later told me it was a very low risk exposure, but just to calm me down he accepted to give me a PPE treatment for 28 days, which I have been taking since then. Side effects are not so terrible for now, only some nausea and fatigue.

For some reason, I cannot completely get it out of my mind, and I am still worried that the test could turn out positive in 3 weeks. What should I do?

Let me thank you all for your advice.

If you know the answer we give then why ask the question if you are not going to believe it?

It will, and it'll be negative.  Hope all goes well.

It's been 10 days now, so I'll take one next week, which I'm sure will help. The week after that, I'll take another one (3-4 weeks already) which I hope will really calm me down.

Your doctor was saying that because, theoretically, nothing is impossible. You could take a test now too for some early reassurance. 80%-90% of infections will  be picked up 2-3 weeks after exposure with a combo test.

Thank you very much for your support. I know it's just my head, but it's so hard to actually believe there was no risk, since the doctor said there was a very low but existent risk, and plus I need to wait 2 more weeks to get a reasonably reliable test that can calm me down. I am even feeling a sore throat and thinking I have ARS already, it's hard to stop thinking like this.

It looks to me like you had no risk, and the PEP was not needed.  Your test will be negative, and hopefully you will able to move on.  Sorry about your anxiety, I know it sucks.

I know, it is just hard to stop thinking about this. I am already trying to identify symptoms, such as a sore throat, etc. But thank you, in spite of all, it is reassuring to read this answer once again.

Thank you, Vance, I know that the general notion in this forum is that there is no risk at all from those kind of activities, and it's pretty helpful for my anxieties. After the exposure, I washed the tip of my penis like a thousand times, and 2 hours after doing that I even poured some alcohol (which was, as you can imagine, horrible). Now I'm even thinking this last action could have been dangerous, because it might have created injuries through which some virus could be transmitted. I am totally aware that I am overthiking this whole episode, but how could I not?

Forget it as you had no risk.
