I am an intern and i got exposed and i am so scared!

yest was a reg day but bit dull and i wasn't thinking rt...i was helping this pt HIV + to move out and iv needed to be disconnected and i like a fool opened in bare hands and bloos mixed with iv fluids came flowing into my hands..it flew over my lt index finges and nails...i wahsed it immediately and i examined for any cuts..but i am so scared..i went to ED and i was given PEP and now i sent for viral load for that pt..Pt is pretty sick and she is in for her chemo therapy n HAART therapy...
I gave my HIV test and am on 4 weks of PEP..and i am so so scared for the next hiv test.i know all the risks and transmission rates but it is so scary....
my q is what do u think abt my case?
and how will PEP affect me?sideeffects?I am on combivir and tenofovir...as prescribed by my attending...
please can you explain to me the sideeffects of PEP ?thanks

Why did they gave you prophylaxis in the first place, I dont think the situation warrants Prohylaxis? the prohylaxis sideeffects are greater, It is just a theoretical risk close to zero in fact, needle exposure/ needle ***** with blodd carries 0.3% so intact skin contact with blood is zero
