Question on ARS

Regardless of what you all think about my "No Risk" event, I was hoping I could dig into some of your knowledge related to ARS.

Have any of you ever heard of ARS symptoms that start 3-4 days after encounter and then come and go for 12 weeks?

I believe I originally had the normal ARS symptoms: fever, night sweats, rash on scrotum and fordyce looking spots on lips. Then about 4 weeks later I got a sore throat that lasted for 3-4 days. Around week 6 began having a stif neck and tenderness in the neck area. And now from week 8-12 I have had on and off soreness in my armpits.

Does sound anything like possible ARS, or too far from typical ARS that is cannot possibly be the cause.

Please ignore what you believe my risk was and just look at my symptoms as if I had a high risk encounter.

Thanks for the help.

I know the feeling of hands and feet falling asleep, and this feels different. Can anxiety really cause this? How can you tell if you are having anxiety. I am not having any kind of panic attack.

This is like a blind man leading a blind man. Both of you guys are fine. You both are showing classic symptoms of anxiety.

LOL Possible??, your hands and feet falling asleep are perfectly normal, it is blood either rushing to or away from your feet and hands. Kinda like when you sit on your butt for too long. When the blood returns it feels like pins and needles.

Some friends and I ended up a a hostess bar (actaully by accident - we asked the cab to take us to a bar and that is where he brought us). We were hanging out talking to some people and dancing and then this girl came up and took me offgaurd. She did not spit into my drink, she had the drink in her mouth and spit it directly into mine. That is why I am so concerned. When she put the drink in her mouth it could have been mixed with blood and saliva and would have been went straight into my mouth.

I am in a situation where I would not be able to test without people knowing because of where we live and the people we know.

It is hard to imagine that all of these symptoms could be from anxiety expecially these tinglings in the hands and feet.

I am 12 weeks from my exposure and symptoms keep coming.

I can barely make it through each day and it is ruining everything I have worked so hard to obtain.

Its been long since your exposure, so your test would be conclusive. Just test and get it over with.

I hope one day I can have a wife and kids who love and adore me.

It will be 4 wks next week. I'm just trying to hold of testing to the 6 or 7 week.

I don't pretend to be some expert on this disease, but you can't get it the way you describe. Why did the person spit in your drink?  And you drank it before someone told you or something?

I don't know why you and your wife are having the same symptoms, but it's not hiv, atleast not from the drink.

I am sure you are fine from protected sex. Your only concern would be if the condom broke and even then it seems like your risk would be minimal.

To tell you the truth I think the fact that I could have gotten blood in my mouth from the drink being spit direclty into my mouth puts me a more of a risk then you had.

I have also been very depressed as I have 2 young beautiful daughter and now my wife is having symptoms. I cannot live with the fact that what happenned to me could jepordize them. I have never cheated on my wife and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It does not seem possible that either of us could of gotten HIV from our expsosures, but the symptoms are hard to ingnore.

I just hope that all of these symptoms can really be chalked up to anxiety and stress.

How long has it been since your encounter? Are you going to be tested again?

I tested, but it was only after 10 days, it was neg, but probably meaningless.

I had protected sex with a girl who has been around the block a few times. I figured I'll wear a condom and all will be well. Then I go to the dr. for a herpes test and at first they say I'm pos. but I couldn't have gotten it from the person. Week later retake, now says I'm neg.

A week after we had sex I started to feel sick. First I just had no apetite out of worrying. Then all of a sudden I was really nauseous, and couldn't even eat a small bowl of chicken noodle soup. My mouth was also really really dry for aobut a day and a half. Ever since then I've been convinced that this woman gave me something. I'm just praying to God that it's not HiV. I still don't know if I'm in the clear for herpes or not. I'm just a young kid who thought having protected sex was just that protected. Now ever since last week, I have been having miserable bouts of depression. I just keep remember how dry my mouth was. I had burned my tongue, so I don't no if that would have anything to do with it. But I drank like two of those Fiji Water 1.5 liters that day and my mouth still was dry. I've been going to the Beach just to sit and look at water. I'm as scarred as I ever been.

I forgot to ask - do you also have the white painless bumps show up on your lips that look like Fordyce Spots?

I am in the same position as you. Everyone says it is not possible for me to have been infected that way that the virus would not live in the drink (it was never in the air - straight from her mouth to mine), but there are so many symptoms it has to be HIV.

What was your exposure? Have you tested yet?

I just read what your risk was. Nevermind, but I too have been having tingling in feet and hands. Its kind of like some one poking at you with a needle. And my armpits are sore as well. THis is scaring me.

But you don't get HIV from that. THe Hiv wouldn't be able to live in the drink or the air. Relax.

I swear we have the same symptoms minus the fever and rash on scrotum. But all the others are on point. Didn't you test neg already? And what was your situation again?

Just in the last two weeks I have been experiencing tingling in my hands and feet several times a day. Is this consistent with ARS? It seems like if I sit to long or in a funny position, my hands and feet go to sleep. I have never had this before so it is just another sign that somehow I was infected by a girl spitting a drink from her mouth direclty into mine.

Everyone has said this is not possible, but there must have been blood in her mouth because the symptoms (tingling in hands and feet) are only getting worse.

What would be the normal occurance of tingling from ARS?

ARS symptoms typically start 2-3 weeks after exposure and last about 1-2 weeks. They don't come and go.

Search for my thread talking about ARS.
