Is the HIV virus different in India..?what are my chances..?

Dear Docs,

Sorry for asking this again If this question is already posted..

I heard in India HIV transmission rate is more in hetero sex (both veginal and oral sex)

I had one very brief unprotexted sex 4 yrs back for 1-2 mins with a sex worker. Also I received once Oral sex 4 to 5 mins from another sex worker 5 yrs back...Since it is in India, is the chnaces of transmission more(since in India HIV Virus is of type C..? )

Sorry If I am spamming this forum.. Just Can't keep myself cool

I know that I still needs to get tested, but I am accumulating courage to get this done

This concept has to do with mode of transmission. Yes, the statistics hold true for India as well.

Thanks for your reply. I still have the first question. In US it is considered that HIV transmission possiblity in hetero sex from female to male is quite less . Is the same theory appliees to India..? or is it different for south Asian countries..?

Thanks again...

The Modern HIV Antibody Tests detect Antibodies for all Subtypes Efficiently(including C)outside of the Window Period. Since your last risky encounter was 4 yrs ago, you may test at any time for a CONCLUSIVE result.
