Really worried Hiv exposure!!?

Hello

Thank you guys to be here and helping us to be at safe side.

We have a new employee who just start 3 months ago he is a cooker and we working in hospital kitchen.  When i had a break today i was walking to the toilet then i  met the new employee front of the door of the toilet he was coming out and i was coming in . His hand was full of water and when he saw me he shaked my hand and started talking to me after that  When I came back to the kitchen i meet my college and he told me that the .  employed did a test for monthly job test and his results came back HIV positive .

I started getting mad coz i just shaked his hand and his hand was wet even the water in his hand come in contact to my hand .

I have a 1 days old cut in my hand from the knife and The cut stopped bleeding and started to heal but still red with dry blood .

So what is worrying me thats he absolutely has many cuts coz he working in kitchen and have to use the knife whole the day

So what is my risk when the water in his hand come in contact to my hand ( my hand became wet because i got the water in my hand from him )

If he has open bleeding wound and his blood came in contact to my cut .what is my risk !?

I have read here there is a small risk if thr blood of infection persion comes in contact to cut of other one .

Shall i go to the emergency!?

What about testing and having PEP!?

I am a 35 days man with a pregnant wife and 1 son . I am worried about my wife and I don't wanna hart my pregent wife please i am really scared

Thank you

No risk. As long as your not having sex with him you are fine, just remember HIV is a STD. Meaning you need to be having sex 1st in order for it to be transmitted. Handshake, kissing, hugging even sharing utensils is not a risk for HIV. Be fair with your colleague he is as human as you are and is to be treated with respect.
