Should I be concerned?

I’m a GWM and I tested negative in February and was with a particular guy twice since then, once in the beginning of April, and a second time about a month later.  We performed mutual unprotected oral sex and I performed unprotected analingus on him.

I got tested in June with a rapid test, and it was negative.  He went last week and was tested with a rapid test, but was positive.  He’s waiting on the blood test now to see if it was a false positive.

He’s contacted everyone he’s been with since his last test (which was in February also) and everyone insisted they are negative or were negative before they were together anyway.  He also said he’s always had protected anal sex and doesn’t use needles.

Should I be concerned?  Should I get myself tested again, and if so, how soon?

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Is the elisa antibody test the most common?  Most places that draw blood for the test send it out but don't say what type of test it is.

Well if he is telling the truth.. it is possible he had an incident that the guy's condom broke or something.

It's still hard to grasp that oral sex is a zero risk. This guy is still trying to figure out how he got it since hes been using protection besides oral and everyone he's been with also say they are neg. Something doesn't seem right.

I'm going to see if I can make it another month to get tested.  As a lot of people do, I have high anxiety over this type of stuff.

but again, rest assured that you are negative. You REALLY did not have a risk and this test will only be for peace of mind

test again mid august. Get an elisa antibody test. 3 months after your "no risk" :o) exposure, your negative result will be conclusive.

That's mid May, not mid April.   Sorry.

Should I still wait longer if I want to get tested again?  The last time we were together was probably mid April. I don't know if it's been long enough to be a confirmation test.   Also, what toe of test would give me the most accurate results at this time after possible exposure?

And just to further put your mind at ease, analingus is a no risk as well. I am sure you are still negative. Get tested if you wish, but it will only be for peace of mind, as you did not have a risk. And please do not ever put yourself through this again. Either stay abstinent, or ALWAYS use a condom during intercourse. I do not want to see you back in here posting somewhere down the line with an actual penetration risk!! :o)

You did not have risk from oral sex.... However... because he tested postive and I know you are worried.... get tested again for peace of mind. I am sure it will come back negative.

Just found out the guy's western blot came back poz.  Now I'm totally freaked out and don't know what to do.  Should I get tested right away again?

Is that true even if there was ejaculate?  I don't believe we did, but I'm sure there was pre-ejaculate.  I always understood there was a risk for HIV transmission by oral, especially if someone has recently brushed or flossed due to possible gum bleeding.  That came from the local AIDS organization.

What about analingus?

Oral sex is zero risk. You dont need for any test concerning HIV.
