How conclusive is my HIV test?

Hello. I had an hiv test about 5 months after possible exposure and it was negative. During this time my boyfriend and I were on a  break, so before and after this I was monogamous. How conclusive is this result and does this result mean that both my boyfriend and I are negative? (he got tested after he had protected sex  with two girls during our "break time" and his test was negative)

Thanks for your time, I just want to make sure I am at no risk!
