On Pep after Oral Sex with HIV + guy

Hello. So after a stupid alcohol night, I met a guy one night who I gave Oral sex to. After 10 mins, I decide to stop. No ejaculaton, but I suspect pre-cum. Anyway, before I leave, he tells me in his drunken stupor the he’s HIV+, but that he’s on meds and is considered undetectable. Me not believing him, I go to the Emergency room. After speaking to the Dr, he prescribed me PEP. I’ll tell you, it really sucks taking this medication. My question is: should I really believe in the whole NO-RISK for oral considering that he admits being HIV+?  And if not, when should I test after the PEP?

You had NO reason to be on pep and the doctor that prescribed that for you was irresponsible. Oral sex is not a risk for HIV even if the other person has hiv. That's unfortunate you started pep. Toxic drug and you had no reason at all to take it. The ONLY risks for HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or to share IV needles to inject drugs. Air and saliva inactivate the virus. You never needed pep and no, you do not need to test for an oral sex episode. Have you had an account here before to talk about this?

First timer here. As for the PEP, I guess the Dr felt that because the guy was actually positive it was needed. I feel like when I’m reading the info on this forum , it helps me deal with my situation, but taking this medication daily reminds me daily of the risk.

You went to a doctor that is lacking knowledge on hiv. There's never been a single documented case of HIV from oral sex. Not a one. You won't be the first. You never needed that medication and the doctor was illiterate to have given it to you. EVEN an unprotected intercourse is less than one percent chance if a single time. HIV is not easy to get. Again, air and saliva inactivate the virus. Oral has never posed anything more than theoretical risk and it just doesn't happen so, I'd find a new doctor. Stop pep and stop worrying about this event.
This comment shows that you are not thinking logically, and that is the cause of your anxiety. "My question is: should I really believe in the whole NO-RISK for oral considering that he admits being HIV+? "
Think about it, a no risk activity is always no risk.  If it was only no risk when the other person was negative then it would actually be a risk. You should stop taking PEP immediately and move on from this non-event even if it means going for therapy. That doctor just gave you PEP to get rid of you because you were taking up his time with your fears that he didn't have any time for.
Thank you everyone for not only the vast information, but also the stern assurance. Sometimes you need that pull of the ear to bring you back to your logical senses.
Glad we could help!  Rest easy
