One bump and a strange mark on my hand. Could it be Herpes?

Not long ago, I had unprotected sex with a girl at a party. A couple weeks after we had sex, I notice a single red bump on my penis. It was on the underside of my penis, in between the head and the scrotum, about right in the middle. It didn't look so much like a blister, more like an in-grown hair. I just popped the "in-grown hair" and it healed over and went away. I didn't notice any swelling or itching, and no pain during urination or intercourse. There is no discoloration either. But now just a few days ago, I discovered a strange mark on my right hand. On the bottom of my palm, I noticed three to four small blemishes. The marks don't hurt or itch, and the area isn't swollen, at least not that I notice. But since these marks haven't gone away after 4-5 days now, I'm starting to get a bit scared. I've looked at pictures of herpes on the Internet while doing some research, and my signs didn't look like the ones I saw. The mark that I had on my penis was indeed red and fluid-filled, but it resembled more of an in-grown hair, or a regular pimple might be the best way of describing it. A few days ago, just to add to the problem, I also got sick. I had all typical signs of a common cold, but in addition to the other symptoms I've been having in the brief amount of time that all this runs together scares me. Do I have genital herpes?

You could, since 25% of the population does.  The only way to resolve this is to take a Herpes Select Blood Test & have it typed for 1 & 2. The blood test is only accurate at least 3 months after possible exposure.  Or if the *bump* happens again have it cultured within the first 24 hours of it's appearance.

Some of your story sounds consistant with an initial herpes outbreak, but usually it's in clusters, not a single lesion.  Also, the bump on your hand probably has nothing to do with herpes at all.
