One time Unprotected Vaginal Sex with a protistute

Hi Doctors,
Please help me out..I've been going crazy out of my mind this past week. 6 years ago I've had a one time unprotected vaginal intercourse with a prostitute. There was no ejaculation and it lasted only for a few minutes. Since its already been years and only now that i was able to come across an article about HIV that I got worried,
I don't remember at all if any of the common flu like symptoms i've had before are connected to HIV.

Please help me and i'm already on the brink of suicide. I'm supposed to get married in a few months, and I've been with my girl for 6 years already (it happened a few months before we started dating). I'm worried now that if I have it she may have already contracted it from me, and I don't know how to tell her. I've already ordered for a home test kit online (HIV tests are not available over the counter here in my country, and the hospitals don't care about your privacy when you get tested)

I have 2 questions.
1. Are there any results from common medical tests that may tell you to look into HIV testing?
2. What are my chances of contracting HIV from the prostitute?

Please please help me i've been losing sleep over this and already pondering on the idea of suicide. I don't have anyone to talk to about this, and this is the first time i'm actually telling someone about my worries.

p.s.(Idon't know if this would help)
I have had a few majore illnessess before and have undergone a lot of major tests even a PET scan, a 24-hour metanephrine test (doctos say I may have pheochromocytoma, I initially experienced Transcient Schemic Attack and eventually had a mild stroke), multiple blood test, MRIs and CT-Scans. I have also been diagnosed with atypical trigeminal neuralgia (confined in the hospital for a week) and I've never heard doctors talk about the possibility of me having HIV

Another question is with the barrage of tests that i've gone thru wouldn't there be a chance that they would have detected HIV or at least signs that would have caused them to suspect HIV?

Please I'm getting desperate here..

As far as I know, they would only have the hiv test done when your immune system is beaten down so badly that you don't respond to broad spectrum medication after an illness.   On normal circumstances, a hiv test is done upon request. Its a specific test. I don't know of any test that detects hiv in a 'by the way' manner.

Please do take note that a person can be infected by hiv and don't show any signs for years. The only way is to test. Aren't there any Std clinics in your country. Looks like the only option you have is to take the mail order hiv test. Just make sure that it is FDA approved. Since it has been 6 years, a simple antibody test will show your status.

I'm sorry if I've not been much of a help to you.

Thank you very much malbat, It's been killing me this past few days and i'm really losing sleep over it. I'm not thinking anymore about myself but my fiancee.
oh and we do have std clinics in my country its just that they don't care too much about your privacy. andtested positive you'll be included in a public list that anyone with a computer and internet connection can lookup.
Just one last question, though.. if its been years already would it mean absolutely negative if the test came out negative? or would there still be a chance of a false negative? Thank you so much for your patience and time..
Sorry, I'm on mobile... Should read as.. Yours would be conclusive.
A negative would definitely be a negative. Nowadays, tests are so sensitive that they are geared towards a false positive rather than a false negative. You're would be conclusive.
