Hello everyone,
I just got an OraSure test today, and luckily the result was negative. But while I was surfing the web, I found several sites that described the proper procedure for taking a swab of your gums: they all said that you're supposed to swab your gums and leave the brush-like device in your mouth for 2 minutes. Now my lab technician swabbed my gums for only 10 seconds, top and bottom gums.
Should I have any reason for concern? Perhaps the clinic has a more advanced version of the test. I'm slightly concerned because the clinic I went to was very disorganized (the computers shut down for 30 minutes) and it was late Friday afternoon. I'm afraid that the technician might have rushed through my test.
Please help me out if you can. Thank you very much for listening. I'm very grateful for all the wisdom and knowledge of this website.
Zack
