I'm so nervous

My husband and I tried swinging a few weeks ago, about 2weeks ago. I had unprotected sex with the guy. I know it was one of the stupidest things I have ever done in my life. I completely regret it, but I did it for my husband because he wanted to see me with another man, weird, but some men like it I guess. So, a few days ago my glands started to become swollen. I feel sick a lot. My throat is sore. My husband is saying that I am just making it up, but it certainly doesn't feel that way. I am so stupid. We have a two year old son to think about and I could have just totally ruined our lives. I don't know what to do. My husband is also in the Army, I don't want to mess up his career, because HIV would. I'm so lost.

Regarding your symptoms, they are meaningless as indicators of your HIV status. The only way to know is to have an HIV test.

At 6 weeks, a negative result is a very good indicator and highly unlikely to change. A test at 3 months is recommended for a conclusive result.

Going onto the third week, now I have some kind of rash on my left arm near my vein. I am like freaking out. I can't stop thinking about what a mistake I made and how much it could ruin our lives. I am also coughing along with the swollen glands and sore throat. My cough kinda sounds like I am wheezing. What do you think?

See your doctor.. Your test will be conclusive at 3 months post exposure.
