PEP during and after

I am a heterosexual male, had unprotected vaginal intercourse with an African  woman (in Africa)  that is confirmed to be HIV positive. All indicates she had a high viral load, due the conditions of her face skin(several warp looking / bubbles).
It was a one time event, I am circumcised and started the PEP (Zidovudine/Lamivudine + Ritonavir/Lopinavir) 9 hours after exposure.
Two questions : 1 - would PEP be effective even if the source has a high viral load?
2 - After the 28 days, can I drink alcohol?
Thank you very much in advance, I am quite distressed about it.

1.  PEP is highly effective no matter what, but of course it isn't guaranteed to work.
2.  This is advice that only your doctor can give you.
