PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

I know I've been told by my doctor and M.D.-HHH that
my negative result at 9 weeks is conclusive I do not have
HIV. But I still can't help reading in another site that
Peripheral Neuropathy can be an ARS. I still now at 13 weeks still feel pain and strange sensations in my feet and toes. The pain started in my big toes which is where I read peripheral neuropathy starts. The pain at the 2 to 4 week point was quite painfull it has now improved and is bearable. In weeks 2 to 4 I sometimes could not wear shoes it was to painfull. I CAN'T GET THIS FEAR OUT OF MY HEAD THAT I MAY STILL TEST POSITIVE. I AM
GETTING TESTED AGAIN NEXT WEEK. SHOULD I THEN STOP TESTING IF NEGATIVE OR STILL WAIT FOR THE 6 MONTH TEST !

PN is NOT a symptom of ARS. PN is not even specific to HIV. There are many reason for a person to get PN. Nerve damage, tissue damage due to trauma, medications, pinched nerves and the list goes on and on.

I have not read where PN is an ARS symptom anywhere on the net.  I have read in a book and a few other sites on the net that HIV attacks the nervous system "early in infection". to the contrary I have also heard that it only presents in late stage/advanced HIV disease and primarily due to hiv medications.
My question is let say that it does present early in infection. Are they saying early in infection like within a few months of contracting the virus, or are they saying early in infections such as maybe the 2 or 3 year mark?
I have also read the it only affects 30% if people with hiv/aids.
I will say that when you look up info on the net, pay close attention to the date it was posted. I found information that was posted in 1996 regarding PN.
Currently experts in the field say it is late stage and primarily due to meds.

For the originnal poster on the thread, I feel for ya. About 8 weeks after exposure I fell prickling (pins and needles) in my arms, legs, feet, buttocks, back, chest, you name it.  I am now at the 10 week mark of unprotected sex w/ girl of unknown status and I am still getting the prickling (pins & needles) feeling, and slight burning in my feet and toes.

Additional comments regarding this matter (post) will be appreciated. Lets clear this up.
Thank you to dobber, mike_no, Joan, and all others who offer words of encouragement during these difficult times.

1. Peripheral Neuropathy is NOT an ARS symptom

2. It's a ADVANCED HIV / EARLY AIDS symptom

3. It can also be caused due to the side effects of the HIV drugs

4. It's a CLASSIC ANXIETY DISORDER symptom

Peripheral  is not a ARS symptom or early sign of HIV infection. It is a symptom of advanced HIV. Stop looking for symptoms on the internet. I've seen not only you, but a lot of other people who DO NOT have HIV saying that they have Neuropathy. You may be experiencing symptoms due to anxiety, and the more you keep looking for symptoms on the net, the more the symptoms you think you have will worsen. If you think your symptoms are really bothering you, go and visit a doctor. You may have something else(not HIV) or a lot of anxiety that needs to be treated. In the mean time, if you can't go on with your life, get tested at 12 weeks. I say this not because I think you need, just because I know that is the only thing that will help relieve your worries.

Bro! I'm feeling the same thing. Mine is not as bad as yours though. It's your mind. My doctor said it's anxiety. I'm 9 weeks with a neg results. Stop reading other sites. Stress can do many thing to you. Trust me, it's doing it to me. I have the same symptoms. Let it go, if you won't its going to keep coming back. It's all good man! Have you talk to your doc about your foot problem? Just relax bro! I'm there with you!
