You can not go by someones age and say they most likely don't have it.

No...you're between an 'exposure' and a testing site.
but i feel like most people on here are freaking out over oral or some other no risk situation. these symptoms are so strange and on the dot, thats why i'm freaking out. diarrhea and sore throats and night sweats and fatigue do not come altogether in any other sickness. unless the fatigue and night sweats and diarrhea are due to my high levels of stress. ahhhhhhhh!! im in between a rock and a hard place and i just want control of my life and to live withour anxiety. but if i get tested and come up positive i wouldn't know how to handle that situation with my family and friends and i would never be able to finish college and do well with that on my mind.
Unprotected sex is not a good idea, but the chances are still overwhelming that he does not have it.
If you are freaked out, test at the appropriate time. Read any post on here and you'll see tons of people with symptoms who DO NOT have HIV or ARS.
Hah! Coincidences....welcome to my world.
GO GET TESTED to ease your anxiety.
but this guy has had sex with probably 8 girls unprotected. and these girls were not virgins rest assured. so thats why i feel like my risk is so high. but, i had sex with him multiple times in the past and was fine. and his friend assured me that he doesn't have hiv, but of course he doesn't know that for sure. what's the coincidence that i get all these symptoms that i've never had before simultaneously in the appropriate time span for ARS
Were u tested for mono or strep?
I hate viruses. Viruses of any kind. Seriously. Except for Cyrus the Virus...he was a bada$s.
the exposure was about 5-6 weeks ago but the symptoms came after 3 1/2 weeks. i did not get tested for mono but my strep came out negative.
Lets clear one thing up--"very high risk" is unprotected vaginal or anal sex with a definately HIV+ person. You did not have a very high risk experience.
It is recommended for all sexually active people who are not in a mutually exclusive relationship to have an HIV test about once a year. Since you are obviously panic stricken about this, now would be a good time to have one, so you can relax when you find out its negative.
Have your test anywhere from 6-12 weeks after your last contact with the boy. 6 week results are highly unlikely to change, but if you are going to remain freaked out, have the test at 12 weeks. That will be 100% conclusive, by anyones standard.
And just for your info, this 17 year old boy is unlikely to be HIV +. And symptoms mean nothing--there are very many miscellaneous viruses that cause those symptoms.
Welcome to the club. You really didn't have a VERY high risk at all. How long ago was the "exposure"?
