Hello Dr. H,
Ive been reading this forum for the past 12 hours or so and found it very helpful. I am really hoping that you can alleviate my anxiety, though I'm otherwise educated and are aware of the absolutely numbers.
I am a 34 year old guy and was having sex with a CSW here in the L.A. area. Had the condom on, but I guess now without adequate lube. I entered her from behind (anal) and felt a pop almost right away and withdrew my penis 1-1.5 seconds later and saw that the condom had popped. Got up right away, removed the condom, made myself urinate (in the toilet) for a good 10-15 seconds and applied lots of 70% alcohol to the head of the penis (some went into the urethra as i felt a minor burn).
So, my possible exposure was no more than 2 seconds which consisted of the initial thrust when the condom broke and the withdrawal. Thats all. I have taken the HIV test 2 hours later and it was negative to establish a baseline.
So now are freaking out of the possibility of contracting HIV. She said that she is tested every 2 weeks and was last tested wednesday, but not sure if i can believe her (first encounter). Are my chances realistic give that exact sequence of events
Do I do PEP now? Its been approximately 18 hours ago. PLEase please please HELP!
