Alpha index 9 is absolutely correct. I work with HIV patients and pre-clinics for screening in the UK. You do not qualify for PEP. If it had been an unprotected penetrative act with his penis then PEP will be recommended. For fingering there is no risk. Even if he had a cut the chances of it bleeding is so minimal as to be almost non-existent. The body contains platelets which almost immediately begin to plug up a wound, and thus prevent us from bleeding to death. I think anxiety suck was well intentioned, but in this case the advice is not warranted. You did well to ask his HIV status, however unless you are in a monogamous relationship and feel confident that the other person is HIV negative, always engage is safe sex. However fingering is not a risk of HIV.
Just to clear the miss guidance
Im sorry that i made you anxious
You said wwhat if there is blood etc...
I just wanted you to seek proffesional help and they would tell you what best to do since u had chance of pep
I know they wouldnt prob give u pep cuz ur exposure was rllly low risk
But being too safe about those stuff is important
Thank you alpha_index9 makes sense as wasn't no penetration , oral with condom and as you explained the other risks are like virtually impossible. Thank you.
Aniqietystuck even I know as much as to know Pep would definitely never be given for these circumstances as its for people that actually have penatrative sex without a condom. Please have more knowledge as I read your comment first and felt even worse till the above explained.
Hi, PEP is only given for significant risk. They are not normal pills to be given for risk free situations. PEPs are heavy and can have side effects. The testing window also advances according to the course. Answering queries without thorough knowledge will only scare people and increase their anxiety more. The user doesnt qualify a risk for HIV and does not need any kind of PEP.
U are right
But any case didnt pass the 72 hours must visit a doctor
They have morre knowldge than us
And they will decide if they put on pep or not
Please hiv is not joke just visit a doctor as soon as possible ..just in case
Thx
Hi, no risk still. For a finger to bleed profusely it needs a deeper cut and blood in mouth never poses a risk as HIV is not friendly with the saliva in the mouth. Had the activities stated above been a risk, half of the world would have been positive by now. Imagine so many people have sex every minutes, there must be cuts on peoples fingers and blood in the mouth due to injuries that goes unnoticed, still people are safe. Just use a condom for penetration thats more than enough.
Go visit a doctor and tell him
If its before 72 hours of exposure
Sesly rush to a doctor and tell him the story so he put u on PEP if needed
Pep is post exposure meds that prevent hiv
Thanks you enjoy yours to but I'm to busy stressing you made it better but just need clarifying about follow up question
Are you sure, what if he had cut fingers or blood in his spit?
Hi, you had no risk what so ever from the above act. You are absolutely safe. Just relax and have a great weekend ahead.
