I am in need of some reassurance. I am a women and had unprotected sex with a man just once. Two months (around 62 days) later I was tested for STD's. I tested positive for chlamydia(which I'm sure I got from him) but negaitve for everything else including HIV. I was then treated for the chlamydia and am now cured of it. I'm still afraid that I might have HIV, because I know the window period can last up to 6 months post exposure. So it's been 6 months and I just got tested again but am still waiting for the results.
I have a few questions: First- how accurate was the test that I took at 2 months? Should I still be concerned that I have hiv? Second - what are the monthly accuracy percentages (ex: tested at 2 months 50% accurate, 3 months 60% etc.) Third - because he had chlamydia does that make him more likely to have hiv or more likely for me to contract it? And finally, how likely is it for a female to get HIV from a male by having sex unprotected just once?
Thank you in advance for your time.
