Possible hiv-infection?

Dear doctor,

I am very worried. I have a friend who died of aids this week. He got acute leukemia and sadly passed away. When he was in the hospital I held his hand en kissed it, and I discovered that I had two smal skinwounds on my hands. His mouth and eyes were full of blood. Underneath his fingernails he probably had some dried up blood. I am scared to have contracted it from my skincontact with his hands. It were 2 small burnwounds from cooking, serveral days ago and they weren't bleeding or anything. Should I get tested for HIV over this?

Kind regards,
M.

I have another question. I friend of mine just had anal sex with a male prostitute. He inserted and didn't receive. He used a condom and lube. To his knowledge it didn't break or fail. He also received oral with a condom. The prostitute was a high risk group. He is very worried. Is the condom enough protection against HIV and other STD's? Or should he get tested?

Kind regards,
Mark

Thank you for your reply Teak. I feel more at ease, but I still feel horrible, to be worried about myself after this sad event. I am glad to have been there for him in his final moments. Kind regards,
Mark
