Prostitute and Abrasion

I recently had a protected sexual encounter with a thai lady on holidays. After the encounter I noticed that there was blood present on the condom and at the base of my penis where the condom did not cover. I later found out that the lady had bled due to having HPV (Warts). To make it even better the thai lady stated that she was HIV positive. I washed myself immediately with soap and water, however at the base of my penis I had an abrasion about 1.5cm x 1cm. The abrasion appeared as dry skin but after rubbing an alcohol antiseptic on the abrasion it stung like crazy indicating a break in the skin. How high is my risk of HIV and when is the soonest I can get tested?

Dr,

I was wondering if you would be able to comment on my situation as it is causing severe anxiety?

Many thanks,

hmmm....a suddenly increase in similar questions.......

You are at risk of other STIs more than you are of HIV.  Your HIV infection risk (if the open skin was there before you washed yourself) will remain very low....as in theory only.

You can go for a HIV test earliest 1 month after exposure and retest at the 3rd month for a conclusive result.
