RNA and Antibody Test in San Francisco

I ended up driving from Santa Cruz to San Francisco about a week ago. I wanted to go to a better clinic where I would be able to get more helpand support from my unprotected anal sex exposure. I tested with an antibody test and they also took 2 tubes of blood used for a so-called RNA test. The counselor told me that this test looks for the virus itself and has a shorter window period. Is this test approved? valid along with my 3 month neg antibody test?
Thanks,

Batch pooling. Depending on the test the analyzer can do several hundred samples at a time.

I got kinda freaked out when she said that they put all the blood together and test it this way to reduce costs....even if they mix the blood together, this does not alter the accuract nor result of the test, correct?......she said that if the blood sample when mixed came out pos, they would have to test each one individually to find out who it was....
