Sorry we got a little carried away there, just take the highly accurate DUO test at 4 weeks and a final test at 3 months--take care.

Hey all...can we please stick to the original topic without having side discussions?  The OP is scared and would just like some direct information.

Thanks,

Steph

The window period for a PCR-RNA is 28 days it's not a stand alone test and needs to be used in conjunction with an antibody tests.

Bottom line for you is..the red dots aren't related to HIV, and you can test at 4 weeks with a duo, and 3 months with a standard antibody test.

NO medication will affect an HIV test.  Your medications don't affect anything.

If an RNA was positive, it would need to be followed up with a confirmatory test.  NO need to test now.

You can if they tested inside the window period. That is not an ARS rash then.I would advise you to have an HIV DUO test at 4 weeks,it's extremely accurate then.

The window period for an RNA is 9 to 11 days as quoted by the CDC.If that test was positive then there is no doubt that you have been exposed to HIV but if it's negative you can't say 100% that it's a true negative.

I would say No,because it's to early for an ARS rash.

Testing now is absolutely pointless.  If you're having high levels of anxiety, a DUO at 4 weeks will help to ease your mind.  You will still have to follow that up with a 3 month antibody test.  Do NOT give into the urge to over test, it just fuels anxiety.

The "red dots" are not related to HIV.

1 week is to early unless you had an RNA but even then you need to test at 4 weeks with a DUO test and follow up at 3 months with an antibody test.
