If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
I have been doing a lot of research about mono and I guess you will test positive for it your entire life. 50% of people get it as children and dont show symptoms.
Now i am worried that I had it as a child and it was coincidence I tested positive for it when I feel sick. Maybe I really am having ARS.
Forget about symptoms. They don't mean a thing. I didn't have symptoms. Quit symptom hunting. HIV has no specific symptoms. Wait on your test result. Everyone here thinks they have ARS and so far not a one has had ARS or did they test positive. No one will even know if they have had ARS unless they test positive then and only then can they relate their symptoms to ARS.
You've the mono.
If your IgM are positive you're affect by the mono in this moment.
If are positive only your IgG you've catch the mono sometimes ago(months or weeks or years!)
So,what was your risk for hiv?
I see you worried about ARS.
The tonsil with white bumps it's a symptoms of mono.
Oh thank you. I wasnt sure if the doctors were able to tell if it is a current mono attack or a previous one.
My risk for HIV is the fact I had unprotected sex with a co-worker in June the first time a month ago the last time 3 weeks ago where the condom came off intentionally by him but he pulled out, but I think one time he didnt pull out in time.
So I am incredibly concerned because the time period for ARS would be now and I am sick. Then my mind starts wondering if maybe I had Mono years ago and the doctors just say its positive result when they tested me for it and assummed its why I am sick now.
So she said she was going to go to the clinic with one of her girlfriends instead of me, so I said OK. Anyway, her appointment was scheduled for 5:30 pm on Thursday afternoon, and she said she would call me after she got out of the clinic. So anyway, I was a bit nervous for what she was going to call me and tell me, even though I was pretty sure she'd test negative. So about 6:30 pm rolls around and she calls me on my cell. I said "Hey." And her voice sounded very distorted, trembling, the way it would sound when you're crying. I said to myself, "No... she didn't test positive did she?" Then I said "What's wrong? Are you ok?" And then she lets out a huge yawn and says "Yeah, sorry, I didn't go to my appointment, I feel asleep."
So the whole reason her voice sounded like that was because she had been sleeping. As you can imagine, she gave me quite a scare for a moment.
But yeah, suffice to say, we STILL don't know the results of her test, because she's lazy and didn't go to the clinic.
ROFL, usually it's the guys that postpone and put off, going to get their results. You'll end up having to drag her in to collect her negative result. Make sure she buys you dinner too. She owes you. ;)
Yeah no kidding. She claims that she honestly intended on going, but that she just really tired and fell asleep unintentionally. But I'm sure that not really wanting to go to the clinic had something to do with it! She definitely owes me, my heart can't take this anxiety. And it's not even my HIV test! lol
My six week has passed, and I'm still scared as hell to test. I test 10 days after exposure and just waiting for the nurse to read the results over the phone, my whole body got week. I knew I didn't have it at that moment, but I was still scared, and now I'm terrified for them to tell me something I don't wont to hear.

I am so stressed out. I can't relax and I am constantly on this site.
You are ZERO RISK if you used a condom.
I will guarantee that after you hear you are negative all your anxiety and "symptoms" will disappear.
After that, I suggest therapy for phobic anxiety.
