More than 50 days and negative result can be concluded that i am free from HIV

Dear doctors,

I'm a male from Viet Nam, more than 50 days before i have had unprotected oral sex with a common sex worker. After this day i have Aphth in my mouth ( one point i think i have to emphasize first that i have a dentures and that time when put it in the dentist did not do a fully marrow removal ) . After more than 50 days- i think nearly 2 months  from this behavior first appeared i went for an Anti-HIV test, this was Anti-HIV Determine (Abbot) p24 Antigen test and got negative result. Will it be a final result ?  Is it convinciable enough to conclude that i'm free from HIV. I have heard that the doctor in the United State do believe that 4 to 6 weeks negative is surficient, why the doctor here in my country say that it must be 3 to 6 months to fully confirmed ? Please do reply me and sorry if my poor English may make you feel uncomfort.

Thank you very much,

Your faithfully: Duy

Most doctors says a 3 month test is definitive. They ALL agree that an infected person will develop enough HIV anti-bodies at 6 weeks. Your test isn't conclusive but is a good indicator.

You never had a risk of contracting HIV and you didn't need any tests.
