Scared after Drawing Blood

Guys please help over this.. Just 13-14 days back I was at the lab for HIV testing. I gave my blood and the result came back negative.

While drawing the blood the nurse has used NEW syringe, she opened it from new packet, now what is worrying me is that... after drawing blood she had put the small white tape on the open wound (normally every1 puts it after drawing blood to stop the out-coming blood)... but I am thinking that her finger could have some of blood, and from the same finger she have taken that small tape, and sticked on me.

The lady didn’t change her gloves, she used on earlier person. But before taking my blood she took the cotton and put some sprit (or I don’t know what to call it, may be some disinfector) on it.

My concern is that tape she put after taking my blood... I am thinking that her finer might have some blood and form the same finer she took that small tape n put it on me.

The lab is ISO certified...

But I am really scared over this, please help me... your words will really help me... thanks in advance...

Scared…

it sounds silly and it is silly...I am usually very paranoid but sometimes it could be useful to just sit and think about what is worrying you. You believe that the nurse had blood on her hand or glove and then the blood was transmitted to the tape and then to you. Well, even if she had blood on her hand/glove and it was on the tape, there is no chance you were infected because:

1- HIV is very fragile, it is in active when it is in the open air.
2- Think about it, the wound in ur arm due to the needle ***** is so so tiny and the blood comes out of the wound and not in. Even if you get a bucket of blood and spill it on your arm over the wound, I am sure not even a single tiny drop of blood will manage to find its way through that tiny wound of urs...it is just impossible
