Single sexcapade (unprotected) with a transvestite

Im a 36 yo man, no drugs user, no antecedents of any STD's. 2 days a go, very drunk, i had unprotected anal sex with a transvestite. I was the insertive part. The action took 2 o 3 minutes, maybe less. At the end, when i was realized what have i done, asked the tv his hiv status. He said he was fine, but since did it with me i must asume he did with others persons. As you can imagine, im in a hell of anxiety. I'v read many forums and posts and found very significant information. I planned to get tested at 4, 6, and 12 weeks. But in the meantime... i need just a few words for peace of mind
So, these are my questions:
1.- In my case, a 28 days test is conclusive?
2.- What others test i must do (in search for others std's) and when will be te right time for it.
3.-I'v read in other forums that people like me (heterosexuals with a one single sexcapade) have a big rate of infection. Its that true? just another urban myth?

thanks for taking the time to answer, and sorry for the bad english (its not my first language)

Very thanks for your words.

When it will be the right time for me for taking the full STD panel?

I tried to calm down. I tried to tell to myself that if Im positve or negative, right now I can do nothing but wait the test and use condoms. That I must relax and be cool.  Its easy to say. You know, im the classical guy with wife and little kids... and the guilty its a torture. Such a lesson i have.

Again, very thanks for your words. Its good to know that theres somone out there who cares and takes the time for doing things like you and others in these forums does.

Unfortunately unprotected anal sex is the riskiest form of sex in regards to HIV transmission. He probably was not lying about his status, but you cannot ever trust someone's words especially when it comes to something serious like HIV. I'm sorry to hear about how anxious you have been.

A 28-day test is not conclusive, but if you had negative results at 1 month this is reassuring because the vast majority of infected people will have detectable antibodies within 4 weeks from the time of exposure.

You should go to a health clinic or your doctor's office and ask for a full STD panel. This would need to  include gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, genital warts, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, HIV, and any other bacterial STDs you could have contracted.

One single exposure for a heterosexual person is not considered high risk. In fact, it is considered low risk for HIV transmission. However, in your case with unprotected anal sex with a transvestite, your risk factor goes up because it was anal and with a transvestite that is considered a more high-risk partner then a heterosexual person.

Be sure and follow through with your testing out to 3 months as you have planned. I wish you the best of luck. Please remember to always use condoms for vaginal/anal sex after this!
