Something is killing my white blood cells

by Lilly87, Aug 25, 2009 11:03PM
I'm not one of those people who obsess over positive HIV test results I am just really concerned over what could be wrong with me. I had oral sex with someone whose HIV status was unknown. I know oral sex is classified as low risk, and I didn't let him ejaculate in my mouth and there wasn't really any precum, but I did have a cut in my mouth at the time. About 5 weeks after the exposure I went to my doctor and found out my WBC was 3.4 and my nuetrophilis cell count was in the 1200 range, which is kind of below average. I did go to get a rapid blood test at 6 weeks and it came out negative. Recently I had some follow up blood work done and now my white blood cell count is even lower (2.8). I feel fine I just don't know what could be causing my cell count to decrease. I am going to see a hematologist soon. Could HIV or any other STD still be the problem?

Whatever your problem is, is not an HIV concern.
