Stupid mistake

I  made a big mistake about 2 months ago and whilst drunk slept with a male prostitute.  At the  time I thought he was female.  So  I guess you'd say transgender  these days.  I  was so drunk  I can't remember if a condom was  used let alone if it stayed intact  but insertive anal sex definitley took place (me being the insertive, not receptive  party).  I'm  driving myself nuts with  worry  and can't seem to build up the  courage  to get tested.  I know I have to.  Not least because following my encounter  I presented with some ARS syptoms (glans up, dry cough, minus fever) and then my girlfriend and I had a  condom  break on us.  I pulled  out immediately but exactly four weeks later she has presented with a killer headache, extreme fatigue and sinus congestion. Again  she had  no  fever but I'm so scared  we might both be  pos now. If anyone can help  or offer any  words  of  comfort they would be  much appreciated.

Just to let you  know the wait is over and its negative.   I will  not be testing again as  from what I've read elsewhere 82 days is about as definitive  as it gets.

Thank you so much for all your comments.

Cheers  forthe comments.  Some  reassuring some  worrying.  As for condom breakage being a low risk  infection episode, bear in mind it would have  been prime seroconversion time.  I'll let you all know how the test goes anyway.

Programs will not pay for multiple unnecessary tests.

It's apparent that multiple testing was presented as an option to Foolish_Drunk and not a requirement. When it comes to health money is not an issue for most of us and if it is there are government programs available for people unable to afford to test in MOST industrialized countries..

HI there,

I am not an advocate for mutiple testing too.  But for the ww, it's hard time and they are all nervous/stress up.

So I normal suggest one at 6 weeks and one at 12 weeks closing the chapter.

Cheers!

ONE TEST is all anyone needs, except those that have an occupational exposure and that is for liability issues only.

No one ever needs to test three times but it's a suggestion, an option for Foolish Drunk to decide on based on his situation.

You never need to test 3 times. One time is sufficient for most and that will be 3 months post exposure.

I agree with chapeau on the testing and drinking parts.  And you do need to test.

But again, I believe you will come out this ok.  Not remembering whether condom was used, meaning it may be used too.. : o ) most male escort do know how to protect themselves.  Also, it is more unlikely to get infected when you are insertive compared to receptive.

Those symptoms you mentioned are not ARS specific; it is common for dry cough to be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes around necks or ears.  Try not to check on them too much, it get worst when being disturbed.

The chances of HIV infection in a condom breakage are very very low.  And her symptoms again are not HIV ARS specific.  She should be ok.

If you do need a test, take it at 3 months for a conclusive result.  But I understand some times, ww like us will take more test.  So go ahead with 4 weeks or 6 weeks.  And if you test negative, than no need for your gf to test.

Cheers!

All you can do is test my friend-not remembering if a condom was even used or not is alarming. If you become THAT unaware when you consume drink then you really need to re-evaluate this and decide what kind of impact it might have on you if you on day if you continue on like this. Not testing is to deny your actions and will not surress anything if there is something there, so test at 30 day / 6 weeks & at three months an know where you stand. Keep your girlfriend safe-maybe tell her after what you just said about the condom.
