Swallowing: Does it pose a higher risk during oral sex?

Based on the research I've done on both the public and expert forums, it seems as though the risk of infection via oral sex is virtually no risk for both the giver and the receiver.  The salive does indeed contain enzymes that deactivates the diseases infectious properties.

That being said, would there be an increase in risk for the person performing oral sex if they were to swallow a significant amount of semen?  Would the acids in our digestive system be enough to kill of the virus once it enters the intestines/stomach?

I'm surprised that Dr S Cummings would have said that because all the other experts say no risk. This community forum will tell you no risk and no need to test.

After an exposure i also here mentioned,in august on the public forum, i staded the same question to Dr Sean from the other site about swallow cum from a sexworker.(13 feb)

I get rashes around my both legs after 23 day, full of blotchy red spots for about 7 days.
Advise from the docter is: U need to test if ur positive or negative.
Why i get this answer if there could be no risk

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".

This community forum stands by oral sex being a zero risk activity for HIV infection under any circumstance. If oral sex was a risk there would be many more millions of people infected with the virus.

But if some doctors say that oral sex poses a very low risk but still a risk it's because there must be some registered cases of infections through this way? Am I wrong?

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who believe that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." Dr. Hook
"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK
"I would not say your risk ,if he had HIV is "slim to none"- that's too high.  I would say they are effectively zero.  How much of his ejaculate or other genital  secretions you may have swallowed makes no difference.  EWH "
"As far as HIV is concerned, there is no known risk of getting HIV from performing oral sex on an infected partner, even if that person's genital secretions get into your eyes or if you swallow." Dr.Hook

Many HIV experts will tell you that oral sex under any circumstance is a zero risk activity for HIV infection and then there are others that will tell you it's a miniscule risk. Here on the community forum we say zero risk.

After spitting more then 5 months on the net i NOT see one docter, report etc were they can conclude that oral with swallow semen is safe

Also in the documented case reports were swallowing is invoveld it,s not clear if the  peson with hiv already use meds so they have much lower viral loads.
Also here the Docters reported 1:10000,but they also reported here if the person is just infected and due the high viral load ur chance gonna be 1;100 so 1% if you swallow.
Also dr Sean mentioned he have some clients who are infected due oral, not much but he has.

So the communityforum here has a different view on the risk then the docters forum, so in my opinion low risk but possible for sure

Thanks for your feedback Teak.  So based on your personal knowledge and years of experience as an HIV educator, and as someone who has done extensive analysis of HIV-related research, you can conclude that you have never encountered one incident of someone testing positive from oral sex and swallowing semen?

Thanks again for your feedback :)
