unsafe encounter - need reassurance

i'm a gay guy who, after a night of drinking, had a foolish, unsafe encounter with another guy.  i had unprotected anal sex with him where i was the receptive partner, and he did not ejaculate.  i have been worried ever since, in spite of his assurances that he is hiv negative.

i tested negative at both 7 and at 10.5 weeks.  i plan to get tested again at 13 weeks.  the nurse was confident i would test negative again.  can i feel optimistic about my chances?

thanks.  follow-up question, i was also tested for syphilis at the same time.  both tests were negative as well.  is that result conclusive yet, or is 3 months the definite one?

Your 3 month post exposure test will be conclusive.

yes u can...a negative test at 10.5 weeks is a veryy good indication of your status
Dr.HHH in the expert forum says that he has never seen anyone testing negative at 6-8 weeks, turn positive later..
so yea, you can fell pretty confident now..cheers!
