I have been tested and will recieve my results on Wednesday. I am a female and have had some unprotected encounters in the past. I have 5-6 swollen nodes around my left head/neck area, 2-3 in my left armpit/breast area, and 2 in my left groin area. I also have a slight dry cough which makes me believe I also have some deep nodes swollen. I have had these symptoms for about a month. They began about 5 months after my last encounter, so these symptoms would not be ARS. Are they too early to be associated with the lymphadenopathy that occurs with chronic HIV? Also, would this lymphadenopathy be unilateral? I have no swollen nodes on my right side.

You can't diagnose HIV by symptoms. HIV has no specific symptoms.

I  am just curious about when that lymphadenopathy usually occurs, whether it is soon after seroconversion or later in the infection?

I agree that I do need to stop looking at information online, but could you please just tell me if this is something that is likely or if you have heard of lymphadenopathy at 5 months before?

Are you self-diagnosing yourself? If so, stop. Wait on your test results.

But I have also read that many HIV positive people have generalized lymphadenopathy after seroconversion. I know you can find anything on the internet. Could my swollen lymph nodes be related to the lymphadenopathy that occurs later in infection, after ARS? Or is 5 months too early for that lymphadenopathy to occur?

The symptoms you describe are not related to HIV. ARS, if one has it comes on 2-4 weeks post exposure and last 1-2 weeks. Your symptoms came to late to be related to ARS and lasted to long.
