Hi,
I sent you an email yesterday but I haven't gotten a response. I see in your profile that you're a nurse and you specialize in labor and delivery. That's great. You see, I have a question and the nurses at my OB's office won't be in till tomorrow and I really need an answer. I know this is the HIV support forum but I notice you frequent this forum a lot. I had my own HIV scare for months ago, you can look up my post, if you want to know about it. You see, I have a low grade fever (99 to 100.6º) that has lasted 4 days so far. It started 4 days after having my twin boys (7/11). I visitted my OB on the second day when I noticed my fever wasn't gone and he told me that since I was nursing, it's normal for a woman to get a low grade fever when her milk is starting to be in full production, however, I don't remember a fever lasting this long. I never had this fever when I had my daughter. At the hospital when they tested me and the babies for HIV, I was negative so I'm trying very hard to disregard that as an issue. My husband was tested negative almost 13 weeks before his first exposure and we haven't had sex since his second exposure one week after that test, so I'm going to assume both our test results were conclusive since Teak, and Dr. Bob (thebody.com) believe that as well. My nurse and the L&D unit told me to test again at 6 months but she was just quoting the CDC and it's obvious she doesn't specialize on STD's. What's the longest I should expect a fever to last?????
