Tiny risk, massive worries, massive fatigue

Dear docs,

I'll try to be brief.
I had a broken condom with a (Belgian) prostitute exactly 2 months ago during vaginal sex.
I felt it breaking, so it was a one second contact!
I have been experiencing debilitating fatigue eversince and lost around 10 pounds.
Had 2 last gen combo (AG/AB) tests taken, one at 39 days, one at 57 days, both came back negative.
All other STD's also cleared. I presumed the fatigue to be stress-related and had hoped it to go away after the relief of testing negative. However, the fatigue is still here, knocking me off my feet all f***ing day. I have bad sleep quality, sleep too long, resulting in overday fatigue and tinnitus, bothering me constantly.
I've had no other illness symptoms, no fever, no sore throath, nothing at all.
Can this fatigue however still be hiv-related after almost 9 weeks or is this the stress that needs it's time to clear out? I have visited my doctor, my bloodwork came back perfect, all nicely within values.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it a lot.

Hi Lizzie,

As (very severe) fatigue and weight loss are the only symptoms I've had eversince, and my 8 weeks test came back neg, I'm quite sure it's not HIV, but this HIV fear probably ignited an underlying stress-fatigue problem, which now caused me to freak out even more, as I have physically and mentally crashed, putting me into quite severe depression. I will be contacting a therapist soon and start therapy to get out of this mess. But thanks for your reassurance anyways. ;-)
I can only advise to everyone on the forum to use condoms correctly and keep them water base lubed up in case of dryness. :-) This lubing really is important to keep condoms from breaking.

Grtz.

willing to bet that when you get your 3 month negative test result, that your "fatigue" will start to disappear.

Hi Lizzie,

Thanks. Have you maybe heard of other cases of very severe hiv-related anxiety fatigue? It has been exactly two months since the incident now, I have never felt this wrecked... I don't feel any kind of improvement either.

Thanks.

ars comes at 2-4 WEEKS post infection and lasts for 1-2 weeks.  sounds like
StReSs !

your result at 57 days is a great indication of your status and HIGHLY unlikely to change.  3 months is when a conclusive result is obtained.

expect a negative :)
