I just wanted to make the point that this information was just posted to create dialogue, that's all. I know how crazy people get about oral on this forum, i just wanted to see how everyone would respond is all...nothing more...Shadow, ect..
Good for you, my fear is not yours either, but I don't impose that on others. This forum should advocate testing, support, and comfort. NOT PERSONAL CHOICE. Forgive me for being conservative with my 6 mo 99.999999% guarantee. I'm just looking out for others.
hey guess what i had sex with an escort but i stopped testing at 84 days your fear is not mine
Study or not, if someone had HIV and gave you a BJ, would you feel satisfied after reading an article or after having a test? It's just a question.
If you go to this site, it talks about the study:

Hey Shadow, you just got a BJ from an HIV positive partner. You don't need testing, you have a 1/100000 chance of catching HIV...Are you going to test? That's what I thought. If your 3 month is negative, why not go for a 6? And if your 6th is negative, why not go for your 12 month just to be on the safe side. Put yourself in someone's shoes for a minute. I don't understand how I'm being irrational. Big deal, 2 add'l tests, they take 40 minutes away from your life and 1000lb's of pressure of your shoulder. You guys needs to start giving better advice. More testing is beneficial, is it not? How does it harm people? Stop trying to give people these 3 month rules, everyone's immune system is different. You guys don't know there history or anything of that nature, and how do you know what this person isn't that 1/100000. Unless you're willing to bet your life on his/her negative test then you need to stfu. If you tell someone their negative, and they seroconvert at 5 months, are you willing to take a blood transfusion from them to share their pain? No. Play it safe. Test at 6 at least.
I believe so, they were couples who agreed to be studied over a certain amount of time. I know for sure that there were over 19,000 exposures in this study and not one person contracted the virus. I can't tell you where or when the study took place, but if you google it you will find it. Don't quote me, but I think it is the largest oral sex study ever regarding HIV.
These people knowingly had oral with positive people?
3-6-12 what? Three months is conclusive.
3 - 6 - 12. Sexual intercourse, vaginal, oral, whatever, get tested, do yourself a favor.
correct very very very very very very very very very low risk

I believe that receiving oral is no risk, right?
Sorry, reported cases...but you are right, no risk.

There have been several documented cases, but in each case there were other risk factors involved. It is an estimate, but some say the risk is zero. There have been several studies done and in one there were 19,000 exposures and not a single person contracted HIV. This study was done with one HIV+ and one HIV- partner involving many people where their only contact was oral sex. Giving oral is estimated to be 1/10,000 and receiving is estimated to be 0.5/10,000.
