Will a test after 8 weeks give conclusive result

Hi all,

Need some opinion here.  its been 8 weeks now after my first sexual encounter.  i had protected sex, but still am bit worried about HIV and Herpes.  that is because i saw some red spots on my penis head after 4 weeks and the doctor confirmed that it does not look like herpes and he has given me a anti fungal cream, which i shd say is working.  But still he scared me saying that HIV will turn positive only after 3 months.  So my question is If i do a HIV test now(after 8 weeks), will the results be conclusive?  or should i wait for 4 more weeks to get conclusive results?

Thanks.

4th generation will give a conclusive NEGATIVE test result at 3 months just like all other tests. The only thing a 4th generation test does is the ability to detect HIV one week earlier than the other tests.
