You never had an exposure. HIV is not transmitted by oral sex.
Dear Mr. Teak. Thank you so much for your quick and kind response. My mind is so relieved now. I can have a good night sleep. I have vowed to help people in similar situation like you are doing. God bless you and family. You and other doctors here are doing a great community service. I have learnt from you all over the last few months.
Dear Mr. Teak,
Your response eased my mind yesterday and could get a good night sleep. However, below questions still trouble me. Appreciate if you can very briefly provide your views.
1) Can it be possible for P24 / Antibody to be not detectable @ day 23?
2) Can it be possible for P24 / Antibody to be not detectable @ day 40?
3) Can it be possible for viral load to be so low that it was not detectable by the PCR test @ day 40?
4) Is it possible that the blood sample @ day 40 was contaminated and results in-valid? Wondering if the the lab test machine will indicate if sample is not proper?
I still have the anxiety of testing @ 90 days and finding myself positive. If that happens, I would be the most un-lucky and rare case. Understand that Oral sex is no risk, but I can be brushed aside as having lied about my encounter, which I have not. Every word about my encounter is true. Never in my life before I have done this.
Thank you in advance for your help.
SK
Lastly, can valacyclovir that I took for 5 days (3 times a day, 500 mg) that is from the 23rd to 27th day impact the 40th day 4th generation hiv duo result?

Hi Teak,
It will be 90 days tomorrow and I plan to take a test on 15th August. I know as per you, I never had an exposure. But I have had my ups and downs trusting various information available and my test track record so far. The 3 months window was stuck in my mind all this while. Just couldnt get over it.
Will surely post back if negative. Not sure how I will feel to find out being positive for this no risk exposure. And also not sure if I will have the mental state to come and post online about being +ve.
I hope for the best for me and my family.
My Last Question:
If found to be positive, will I be considered one of those reported cases (but not documented), that are statistically insignificant? Because numbers are required to generate meaningful statistics, and to get enough numbers, enough cases have to be reported and documeneted?
SK
You won't be positive. Relax. You didn't have an exposure and your other test prove it as well.
Thank you so much. Really appreciate our response.
Tested negative on Ab only test at 101 days (14 weeks 3 days).
