Are there any definative studies done on the life of HIV outside the body?

If there are people saying HIV can infect from outside the body is this because of a lack or studies or understanding?

There is a case of a lesbian couple who contracted HIV from one another from shared sex toys? is there not? Would this buck the trend?

HIV does not infect anyone if it is already outside its host. The only exception is syinge where vaccuum inside, helps HIV to survive for longer duration. There has not been even a single case of HIV transmission where it was picked up from outside the host.
