Worried

Hi everyone:

I brought a package of lancet a weeks ago, it is sealed. However, one of the cap was falling off before i used, but i used it anyway. Now i am really concerned, is that possible the Hiv virius could live on the lancet or not, it is a sealed condition. And i do not remenber is there any blood on the lancet or not.

Really Thanks

Do i need to test?

good lord !  don't tell me you think that someone used the lancet and then placed it in with the others.  geeeeeeeez...can you see how irrational that sounds????

you had NO risk

kindly move along...you do not have a hiv concern and we cannot entertain your anxiety / ocd issues.

There was no risk even if you cut yourself. Please, HIV simply does not go through this way. You can easy your mind.

It is not debatable, its not a risk... even if somebody else used the lancet before you  (even minutes before you) no risk.

Ok, i think it is the most conservative interpretation. But let's take it. Do you think anyone could have used this lancet four hours before you?

I really think this is a debatable question, i call the local ODC, they told me the HIV virus can live outside for up to 4 HOURS. So, i am really, really conconered

There is no need to test. Even if the lancet was used before (and I don't believe in this possibility) and the person who used it was HIV +, after some minutes out of the body the HIV virus can no longer infect anyone.

Best wishes
