Worry of AIDS

I am worried if I am HIV +ve or not. I had unprotected sex (without condom, even though it was just for 30 sec-1 mins as I ejaculated by touch of vagina but I think inserted around 1/2) with my girlfriend in june 2005 i.e. 2 years back. I developed high fever, dirrehea in around 3 weeks. I got myself tested on viral, malaria, typhoid but all showed -ve but even after 15 days fever didn't subside then I went to another doctor and he did typhi-dot test and i was tested +ve on that and then doctor gave me typhoid medicines and I recovered fully within just 2 days.

Now after 2 years, I am worried about the fear of having HIV +ve and till date I never tested myself for HIV. I have not developed any disease till now and no symptoms of AIDS. My worry started when my present girlfriend got lymph node in neck some days back and I read on net that this is also a symptom of AIDS but doctors are suspecting TB.

Even though my girlfriend was highly educated so I can't say that she could be HIV +ve but still fear of HIV is biting me everyday. How much is the probability of HIV +ve in my case?? I am 28 years old male..

Testing is not that big of a deal. Go find a place that does the rapid tests and you can know your results right there. The chances you got HIV from that exposure is EXTREMELY low. You have more of a chance of getting hit by lightning that getting HIV from that event. Although, to be 100% certain you need to test. I can almost guarantee it won't come back positive. Just think how great it will feel to know you are negative.

i dont think you are positive at all based on what you said, about 1 minute insertion, it is very low risk but there is still a risk. You can get some balls and go get tested, if negative you can sleep well, if positive then you can get on meds, not something great to do but at least there are meds these days to manage hiv, good luck and go get tested.

you are way beyond the window. get tested, thats the only way to know your status. symptoms are unreliable when your dealing with hiv.  dont go by chances or probabilities, testing is the only way to know.
