am i HIV positive

Dear Dr. Hook/ Dr. Handsfield

I am not sure if you've a question similar to this or not. I apologise if you have but here goes...
I went out with this guy a month ago and long story short, we kissed and eventually I ended up in nothing but my panty (I also had a pad on since I was on my period) and he had his briefs on. there was no sex; his penis did not enter my vagina. However, he did rub his penis on my vagina 2/3 times. I am not sure of his HIV status but say he is HIV positive, does that mean I am too? how high are the chances of me being HIV positive too?

I also researched the symptoms of HIV and the site stated that they are:
•Fever (this is the most common symptom)
•Swollen glands
•Sore throat
•Rash
•Fatigue
•Muscle and joint aches and pains
•Headache
and they will be experienced within 2-4weeks of exposure. I've had Headache, Swollen gland and a sore throat so far. I am not sure if this is because of the cold/flu my brother and sister had/have that I might have caught too or if it is symptoms of the HIV I might have.

should I be worried? please help!

Dr Hansfield does not answer questions here. You have to post in the expert forum.

But since you're here.....

"there was no sex; his penis did not enter my vagina."

That is all that needs to be known to tell you that you didn't have an exposure.

"how high are the chances of me being HIV positive too? "

None!

You never had an exposure for HIV to take place you need to have unprotected penetrative sex.
